CONFIRMED: Antoine Semenyo picks his next club
Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo has chosen Liverpool as his preferred destination, according to a report.
The Ghana international is seemingly all but guaranteed to leave the Cherries in 2026, and a transfer is possible as early as January due to a release clause that was included in the contract he signed last summer.
Semenyo can leave Bournemouth mid-season if a club triggers his €74 million clause, but this must occur in the early stages of the January window to allow his current club to source an adequate replacement.
His national team boss, Otto Addo, has suggested that Semenyo could be on the move in January, although a transfer in the summer would likely give him more options as the value of his clause is set to decrease.
Nevertheless, there is big-name interest in a January deal. Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City and Tottenham have all, to varying degrees, been associated with Semenyo in recent weeks.
Semenyo picks his next club
According to TEAMtalk, Semenyo has a clear idea which club he wants to join. The report claims that the 25-year-old has chosen reigning champions Liverpool as his preferred destination.
Although it is acknowledged that Semenyo would be open to joining any of the aforementioned suitors, he is said to have "made it known" that Liverpool are his first choice.
Bournemouth want to keep him until the end of the season, but they have already started working on potential replacements, with Ipswich Town winger Jaden Philogene among the options being considered.
Given the drama surrounding Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah, there is a belief that things could move swiftly. The outlet asserts that the Egyptian is pushing for a move away, but David Ornstein has revealed that Liverpool want the 33-year-old to see out his current contract, which runs until 2027.
