Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has seemingly confirmed that his loan move to Napoli will become permanent next summer.

The Denmark international joined Antonio Conte’s side on an initial loan deal for the 2025-26 season on 1 September and he has scored six goals in 15 appearances since his arrival in Naples.

Hojlund has established himself as a guaranteed starter amid Romelu Lukaku’s absence through a thigh injury and he has helped Napoli establish a slender lead at the top of the Serie A table.

The 22-year-old struggled throughout his two-year stint at Man Utd and it’s believed that he has already played his final game for the club, with Napoli’s loan deal including an obligation to buy for €44 million if certain conditions are met, including if they qualify for the Champions League.

It’s therefore not guaranteed that Hojlund will become a permanent Napoli player in 2026, however his latest comments suggest that a transfer is confirmed.

Rasmus Hojlund drops transfer hint

Speaking after he netted a brace during Napoli’s 2-1 win over Juventus on Sunday, Hojlund told DAZN (via Metro): “Sometimes as a striker you don’t score and I try to help the team in different sorts of ways.

“I know how important it is for the manager that I’m able to hold up the ball, to put the game a little bit higher. It’s also important for me to work hard on the pressing and keep the team compact.

“I scored two goals tonight, but it’s all down to my teammates, the manager and his staff.”

Hojlund then admitted: “Next season, I’ll give my interviews in Italian!”

As a result, it seems as though Hojlund is set to remain at Napoli beyond the 2025-26 season, with his loan deal from Man Utd expected to be turned into a permanent one next summer.
