Celtic reportedly remain interested in signing Sheffield United striker Tyrese Campbell after failing to finalise an agreement during the January transfer window.

The 26-year-old has scored six goals and provided two assists in 36 appearances for Chris Wilder’s side so far this season and he was heavily linked with a move to Glasgow earlier this year amid the Bhoys’ pursuit of a new centre forward.

Rangers were also interested in signing the former Stoke City star and both clubs submitted formal enquiries over a possible winter deal before Sheffield United blocked a potential exit.

However, the Englishman is set to enter the final year of his current contract at Bramall Lane this summer and, as per The Daily Record, Celtic and Rangers are both poised to rekindle their interest in his signature after continuing to scout him following their failed winter bids.

Campbell is yet to decide whether to agree fresh terms with Sheffield United this summer, but the Blades could be tempted to finalise a sale in order to avoid the prospect of losing him on a Bosman deal in 2027.

Celtic want Tyrese Campbell

Celtic have the option to sign loanees Junior Adamu and Tomas Cvancara on permanent deals this summer, however neither player has caught the eye since their January arrivals and the club are unsurprisingly scouring the market for alternatives.

Plymouth Argyle duo Lorent Tolaj and Bim Pepple have both been earmarked as potential targets by the Celtic hierarchy, while the club are also interested in finally bringing Campbell to Glasgow, having been interested in him back in 2020.

The 26-year-old has featured regularly for Sheffield United this season, but he has only started three Championship matches from a possible 15 since the turn of the year after falling behind Patrick Bamford in the pecking order at Bramall Lane.
