Liverpool Transfer News Today: €100m Salah replacement confirmed amid huge Slot demand
All the latest Liverpool transfer news in one place, including updates on Yan Diomande, Murillo and Mohamed Salah.
Diomande interest "confirmed again"
Liverpool regard RB Leipzig wonderkid Yan Diomande as one of their "top three" potential replacements for Mohamed Salah, according to Sky Germany.
Reporter Florian Plettenberg insists that the interest has been "confirmed" to him again by sources, but he reiterates that Leipzig are demanding a fee of up to €100 million for the Ivorian.
His colleague Philipp Hinze, meanwhile, reports that, from Leipzig's point of view, a summer sale is not entirely set in stone at this point. They would ideally like to keep the 19-year-old for another season.
Salah not Miami-bound
As for Salah, his destination remains up in the air, amid interest from Saudi Arabia, Major League Soccer and Europe, Fabrizio Romano reports.
Inter Miami have been touted as a potential club that could sign the Egyptian after his departure from Liverpool, but the transfer insider insists that the reigning MLS Cup champions are not working on a deal for the 33-year-old.
The Herons are restricted by MLS's roster regulations and would have to offload one of their marquee players before being able to sign a player of Salah's stature.
Liverpool ready to bid for Murillo
Liverpool are interested in Nottingham Forest defender Murillo and prepared to make a "substantial bid" for him, TEAMtalk claims.
The Brazil international looks increasingly likely to depart the City Ground club this summer, and the Reds are at the front of the queue as they look for a potential long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk.
Despite already confirming a deal for Jeremy Jacquet, Liverpool could make another big-money defensive signing, and they are said to be ready to pay up to €80m for Murillo.
Liverpool monitor Ndicka
Another defender Liverpool are keeping tabs on is AS Roma star Evan Ndicka, as per CaughtOffside.
Roma have been open to offers for the Ivorian for a year as they seek to trim down their wage bill, and he could finally make a move this summer after consistently impressing in Serie A.
It is claimed that Roma will consider selling if their valuation of €45m is matched. Liverpool are monitoring the 26-year-old, but he is also fielding interest from Man Utd and various other suitors.
Slot makes contract demand
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot is threatening to quit his job if he is not offered a satisfactory new contract, Indykaila claims.
Despite significant media pressure, Liverpool are reluctant to sack the Dutchman, but the decision could be taken out of their hands by the 47-year-old this summer. Slot's current contract runs until 2027, and extension talks have been tough going.
It is asserted that Liverpool's proposals have left the head coach unimpressed and that he is demanding significantly revised terms. He could walk away if the two parties are unable to find common ground.
