Pavlovic interest confirmed

A second Italian source, Corriere dello Sport, has confirmed that Chelsea are interested in AC Milan defender Strahinja Pavlovic.

After a difficult first season in Lombardy, the Serbia international has been much improved this term, and this has not gone unnoticed in West London. Chelsea, it is claimed, have already made contact with Pavlovic's camp.

However, Milan want to keep hold of their defensive star ahead of their expected return to the Champions League. A touted fee of €40 million would bring the Rossoneri a handsome profit, but they are reluctant to weaken their defence.

Chelsea interested in Swiss captain

Chelsea are keeping tabs on OH Leuven centre-back Roggerio Nyakossi, The Sun claims.

The 22-year-old is the captain of Switzerland's U21 and is expected to move this summer, as he will only have a year left on his contract after this season. Despite January interest, he stayed in Belgium to help his club in their battle against relegation.

A move to a "major European league" is planned for Nyakossi this summer, with Chelsea and Liverpool among the clubs to monitor his situation. He is expected to be available for under €10m, though his former club Marseille have a buy-back option.

Fermin sends clear message

Chelsea target Fermin Lopez has announced that he is planning to remain at Barcelona for the rest of his career.

The Spain international was the subject of a bid from the Blues last summer, but neither Barcelona nor the player was keen on entertaining a switch to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea's interest has remained, but a deal continues to be unlikely.

"It was a bit complicated; I felt a lot of pressure, but I never wavered," he told Catalunya Radio. "I couldn’t say anything. Barca renewed my contract, and I’m very grateful. As far as I’m concerned, I’d stay here forever."

Chelsea face setback in wonderkid chase

Chelsea's interest in Cruzeiro youngster Felipe Morais has suffered a setback, Globo reports.

The Brazilian club have handed the 17-year-old a new contract that has left his €100m release clause untouched. It means that any move for the teenager has just become more difficult.

Clubs like Chelsea and Atletico Madrid began to monitor the attacking midfielder more closely after last year's U17s World Cup, the report claims. The European interest has now prompted Cruzeiro to tie him down to a fresh deal as they seek to extract maximum value from the wonderkid.
