Rangers boss Danny Rohl has agreed that reinforcements are needed in January following his side’s 0-0 draw against Falkirk.

The 36-year-old’s start to life at Ibrox has been fairly mixed, winning four of his nine matches in charge, and they were held to a second consecutive draw in all competitions after an underwhelming display on Sunday afternoon.

Rangers mustered just four shots on target throughout the entire 90 minutes and Rohl has now admitted that he would like the club to dip into the transfer market during the upcoming winter window.

The Scottish giants, who are nine points behind league leaders Hearts, have been linked with a number of players ahead of January, including Kilmarnock midfielder David Watson, although it remains to be seen if they will sanction mid-season arrivals following a spend of €29.7 million this summer.

However, it’s evident that Rohl is eager to land reinforcements and he has revealed that he has a “clear picture” of the specific areas Rangers must target.

“I never lose patience with players but the opportunities will be fewer. Because yeah, it’s about form. Some players use it, some players can’t use it,” Rohl told reporters during his post-match press conference (via The Daily Record).

“You look at what opportunities you have and you take the next one. It’s football, it’s about competition. In some positions, we have competition and in others there’s less. So you have to step up, that’s what I demand and expect from my player.”

Rohl then agreed with a reporter’s suggestion that his squad needs improving during the January transfer window and added: “With the group we have at the moment it’s my job and responsibility to bring the best out in them.

“We’re seeing too many ups and downs. Some players feel: ‘OK, I’ve made the step’. Then in the next game they take a step back.

“We are not consistently at the highest point again and again. This is my job. When I arrived I said it's about finding a way to win games.

“Today is the first draw (in the league) but we are disappointed with the performance. For me it's now week six or seven and I have a clear overview now. I have a clear picture of what we miss at the moment. And from this point, we go forward.”
