In prolific form this season, the Spain international has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Tottenham, but Mikel Arteta’s side are monitoring the 21-year-old.

Porto are said to be rather inflexible on his €100 million release fee being met but it is possible that the Gunners will be able to knock this down to €90m.

Arsenal are concerned that Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are injury-prone, so Arteta is looking for a reliable backup option to Viktor Gyokeres.

Marcus Rashford transfer twist as PSG challenge Barcelona for permanent move

Marcus Rashford’s deal with Barcelona is set to be ‘blown apart’ by a €50 million bid from Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report.

Although Rashford has excelled with the Blaugrana since his loan move from Manchester United, there are very real fears that the Catalan club will be unable to buy him on a permanent basis.

The European champions are seeking to take advantage of this in a deal that will be worth €20m extra to the Red Devils.

Real Madrid crisis: Xabi Alonso demands Fede Valverde exit

Xabi Alonso might have started to ease the pressure on himself with a 4-3 win over Olympiacos in the Champions League on Wednesday, but tension continues to bubble behind the scenes at Real Madrid.

According to a report from Fichajes, the coach has demanded that Fede Valverde leaves the club.

The relationship between the pair is said to be “strained to the point of breaking” amid claims from the Real Madrid dressing room that the Uruguay international no longer supports the manager.

Despite this, there have been positive developments for Alonso as he fights for his future at the Bernabeu.
