Man Utd eye double deal
Man Utd are targeting an ambitious double deal for Stade Rennais duo Jeremy Jacquet and Mohamed Kader Meite after sending one of their most trusted scouts to France to watch them in action.
The Red Devils want to stock up on young talent and have identified the Rennes pair as ideal reinforcements for 2026. The two Frenchmen have also been linked with other big-hitters from the Premier League.
Jacquet is a 20-year-old centre-back who was being associated with a potential move to Arsenal in the summer, while 18-year-old striker Meite has recently become the subject of links with Chelsea.
Mateta talks opened
Crystal Palace have opened contract talks with rumoured Man Utd target Jean-Philippe Mateta, whose current terms at Selhurst Park expire in the summer of 2027.
Linked with Man Utd for months, it has been suggested that Man Utd could look to sign the experienced Mateta to take the pressure off young Benjamin Sesko.
However, Palace are now looking to nip any speculation in the bud by handing an extension to their star striker. An agreement hasn't been reached, but the Eagles are calm over the situation.
Man Utd in Smit discussions
Man Utd have opened talks with highly sought-after AZ midfielder Kees Smit, who is being compared to Barcelona superstar Pedri due to his stunning emergence over the past year.
The Dutch youth international is being chased by most of Europe's top clubs, but Man Utd are trying to steal a march on the competition by starting talks over a potential move early.
It is claimed that the Red Devils are so far the only suitor to have actually engaged in discussions with the player.
Palace respond to Guehi links
Man Utd have recently been linked with a January move for Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi, but the Selhurst Park outfit believe that Liverpool will be the only club to pose a credible threat in the winter.
Palace are confident that Guehi's other suitors will only look to sign him on a free transfer in the summer. However, Liverpool could be desperate enough to pay a fee in January.
Man Utd will therefore only enter the conversation should it become clear that the defender will not move in January, but they would have to bide their time as only foreign clubs will be able to agree a pre-contract in January.
Zirkzee agent causing trouble
Joshua Zirkzee's agent Kia Joorabchian is once again being accused by the Italian press of demanding an excessive commission fee during talks with AS Roma.
The Serie A giants want to loan the Dutchman, and Zirkzee is understood to be keen on the transfer. However, Joorabchian's supposed financial demands are making a deal difficult.
Joorabchian was already accused of ruining a transfer to an Italian giant in 2024 when he was getting ready to leave Bologna. He was keen on joining AC Milan, but Joorabchian's demands proved too expensive, leading to his move to Man Utd.
