Kane is a leading candidate to win the Ballon d’Or after a spectacular season with Vincent Kompany’s side, yet his future had been the subject of speculation with his contract expiring next summer.

The Tottenham icon has spoken of possibly moving to the USA, admitting that he even dreams of becoming a kicker in NFL, yet that dream is one that he is ready to shelve for the moment, according to Christian Falk.

Kane ready to sign 2029 contract with Bayern

Falk reports to CBFBayernInsider that contract talks between the 33-year-old Kane and the Bavarian club are “moving forward”.

He adds: “It's very positive at the moment. There were some productive talks before the international break, and they have been ongoing since. The two parties have discussed numbers and the contract.

“There are positive vibes on either side of the negotiating table and nobody thinks talks will fall apart. It's a question when, not if, things all work out. Talks could escalate quickly with Kane returning to Bayern. Of course, both sides are happy to take their time with talks, as no one thinks either party will make a surprise move in negotiations.

“It will normally be a contract until 2029. There are some ideas about the option of an additional year. At the moment, there’s no question that the future of Harry Kane is very much at Bayern Munich.”

Kane eyes MLS as stepping stone to NFL

Kane had spoken about his dream of becoming an NFL kicker during the international break, however.

“That is something I will try and look at a bit more seriously,” he said. “It all depends on what happens in my career over the next five or six years, the motivation and what I want to do.

“The NFL is a lot more realistic than the golf one, let's put it that way.

“If I did that, in terms of training, I would be closer to that more than any other sport. I take penalties and it is a very similar pressure, technique.

“But as I know with all elite sports, when you watch it on TV people make it look easy you think it is possible but that is not always the case.

“If I was to do it, it is something I would take seriously. I would take maybe six months to a year of trying to practice before.”

MLS could be a stepping stone towards the NFL.

“Maybe if I am in the MLS in the future or somewhere like that it might be a thing where you could connect the two maybe with the seasons,” he said.

“But, again, it is in the back of my mind because right now I am feeling that I want to play as long as I can here.

“I think sometimes it is easy, you to get to my age, 33, you start thinking about retirement or the future, but I am trying to extract everything I can from the last two, five or 10 years, I will keep going.”

Kane’s final words seem to confirm that he will be staying with Bayern Munich for the moment, with MLS and NFL remaining a goal for the future.
