Man Utd star's agent threatens to DERAIL another transfer
The agent of Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee is once again causing consternation, according to a report.
The Netherlands international is looking to leave Old Trafford in January, but Man Utd have so far shown no inclination to grant him his wish. Ruben Amorim wants to keep Zirkzee around despite barely using him.
Zirkzee, understandably, wants to play in a bid to salvage his chances of making the Dutch World Cup squad, and AS Roma are keen to bring the former Bologna man back to Serie A.
However, discussions with Man Utd have mostly proved fruitless so far. On Wednesday, it was suggested that the Serie A giants had pivoted to frustrated Tottenham forward Mathys Tel, in a big boost for Amorim.
However, the speculation surrounding Zirkzee continues unabated, and the Italian press appears to really have it in for his agent Kia Joorabchian, who stands accused of having ruined the 24-year-old's move to AC Milan last year.
Zirkzee agent causing more trouble
Before Man Utd entered the race for Zirkzee last year, the striker was keen on swapping Bologna for AC Milan, but the deal collapsed because Joorabchian reportedly demanded an exorbitant commission.
Corriere dello Sport now claims that his commission would once again be a problem should Roma manage to achieve a breakthrough in talks with Man Utd.
Zirkzee is keen on the move, but there is no guarantee that he will get his wish. In fact, already last week, it was claimed that Joorabchian is pushing for the Dutchman to stay in the more lucrative Premier League instead of returning to Serie A.
Roma want to include a purchase option in a loan deal for Zirkzee, but recent reports suggest that Man Utd could demand as much as €25 million, which is a worry for the Italians because they want to cut down their spending to avoid breaching UEFA's financial rules again.
