Saliba ended speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid by signing a new five-year deal this week, with the French defender stating his excitement at the prospect of winning silverware with the Gunners.

Arsenal are determined to win a trophy for the first time since 2020 under Arteta, with the club believing they are in a strong position to finally end their long wait for a Premier League title after finishing runners up in the last three seasons.

As a result, Arsenal are keen to keep their key players happy and contracted to the club for the long term and TBR Football report that Jurrien Timber is the man in line for a bumper extension.

Timber has usurped Ben White as Arteta’s first-choice right-back after missing virtually his entire debut season through injury and building up his fitness throughout the last campaign.

With Timber’s current deal set to expire in 2028, talks over improved terms are reportedly set to be held before the end of the year after his excellent start to the new season.

Berta continues impressive work with new deals set to be agreed

Timber’s extension would cap off an impressive first few months in charge for sporting director Andrea Berta, who has quickly resolved contractual issues for Saliba, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri since being appointed at the end of March.

Arsenal also spent more than €200 million on players during the summer to ensure Arteta has his strongest squad yet in order to secure the Premier League title this season.

However, Berta still has one key deal to secure in the coming months, with Bukayo Saka’s contract set to expire in 2027.

Saka has shown no desire to leave Arsenal and the club are aiming to hold talks over a new deal in the coming months with the aim of making the England international one of their highest earners and securing his long-term future at the Emirates.
