Man Utd get arrival date for Amorim’s forgotten first signing

Manchester United will soon have a new face for head coach Ruben Amorim’s squad, despite having so far only signed Matheus Cunha this summer.
The Red Devils completed a deal to snap up promising youngster Diego Leon in January, with the young Paraguayan becoming the first signing of Amorim at the Old Trafford club as he hooked up from Cerro Porteno.
The youngster has a contract that runs until 2030 at Old Trafford and signed his deal prior to Patrick Dorgu hooking up with the club.
As he was still only 17 at the time, he was unable to sign for the club and it has now been confirmed when he will join Man Utd formally.
Diego Leon will join his new team-mates on 1 July, VSports Team reports. He is not expected to go straight into Man Utd’s first-team panel, but it would not be surprising to see him work with Amorim’s squad at times during the summer.

Man Utd's new hope
The South American, who has already passed a medical, joins a recent trend of young players joining the Red Devils. Man Utd worked hard to secure the signature of Ayden Heavan from Arsenal, with the young centre-back having already impressed, having made his debut in the first team.
Diego Leon, who plays as a left-back, will hope to make a similar splash in Manchester, although he has numerous players to battle in order to get recognition from Amorim.
Dorgu and Luke Shaw are the first-choice options in the his area, while fellow youngster Harry Amass will be another player for him to overcome if he is to make an impact on the first-team this season.
In the meantime, Diego Leon must simply settle at Man Utd following his move from Cerro Porteno.
