Manchester United have endured a fairly miserable campaign, although they could be set to secure Champions League qualification by winning the Europa League final in late May.

The Red Devils opted to sack Erik ten Hag in October, following a dismal start to the season, but their fortunes have barely improved under Ruben Amorim and they will end the campaign in their lowest finishing position in the Premier League era.

Below, FootballTransfers runs through our Man Utd awards for the 2024-25 season.

Man Utd’s Player of the Season

Bruno Fernandes has undoubtedly been Man Utd’s Player of the Season in 2024-25. The Portugal international has been the club’s best player since his arrival from Sporting CP in 2020 and he has enjoyed yet another fantastic campaign this year.

Despite Man Utd’s struggles under Ten Hag and Amorim, Fernandes has been a consistent performer and is one of very few Red Devils players who can hold their head up high this season.

He has registered 37 goal contributions in all competitions, at the time of writing, and he is the only reason why Man Utd weren’t more seriously concerned by the threat of relegation.

Man Utd’s Flop of the Season

Rasmus Hojlund has been Man Utd’s worst player during the 2024-25 campaign and he could be set to leave the club this summer as a result.

Big things were expected from the Denmark international upon his arrival from Atalanta for €77.8 million, but he has failed to deliver at Old Trafford.

Hojlund has only scored four goals in the Premier League this term, and while his form has been more impressive in the Europa League, he has been a major disappointment this season.

Man Utd’s Best Transfer

Noussair Mazraoui was signed for a mere €15m from Bayern Munich and he has become an indispensable player since his arrival at Old Trafford.

The Morocco international has played as a wing-back and a central defender under Amorim and he has quietly been one of the best Man Utd signings in recent memory.

Mazraoui was the cheapest of Man Utd’s five summer additions, however he has certainly been the most impressive.

Man Utd’s Worst Transfer

Joshua Zirkzee takes the crown as Man Utd’s worst transfer of the season following a hugely disappointing first campaign at the club.

The Dutchman was rated as one of Europe’s best strikers last summer after a fantastic year at Bologna, but his stock is at an all-time low due to the fact he has only notched seven goals in 48 appearances so far this season.

Zirkzee has been heavily touted to secure an immediate return to Serie A this summer and Man Utd may be forced to accept a substantial loss thanks to his underwhelming form at Old Trafford.
