EXCLUSIVE: Man Utd target second Wolves star after Matheus Cunha deal

Manchester United are on the verge of signing Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers but are eager to secure another major arrival from their Premier League rivals, FootballTransfers can reveal.
United have shown interest in bringing Nelson Semedo to Old Trafford this summer, with the right-back set to leave Wolves as a free agent when his contract expires on 30 June.
Semedo’s name was raised internally at the Red Devils during talks over Cunha, who is expected to make a permanent move to the club ahead of next season. United are close to activating the Brazilian's release clause, and discussions over his transfer opened the door to considering Semedo as a potential addition.
The 31-year-old, who has worn the captain’s armband at Molineux, is expected to depart Wolves despite being offered a four-year contract extension. His farewell at the final home game of the season, where he received applause from fans, hinted strongly at a summer exit.
Over the course of the Premier League campaign, he gave his side solid service, finishing the campaign as a solid performer in England’s top flight according to SciSports.

Semedo waves goodbye to Wolves
Semedo, formerly of Barcelona, has made over 180 appearances for Wolves following a €32 million move in 2020 and remains a respected figure in the dressing room. His availability on a free transfer is seen as an opportunity for United to reinforce their options at right-back with an experienced, Premier League-proven player.
While no agreement is in place yet, United’s interest could develop quickly - especially as they look to rebuild under Ruben Amorim and support Cunha’s arrival with a familiar face.
If terms can be agreed, Semedo could follow Cunha to Manchester in what would be a cost-effective double swoop from Wolves.
