Arsenal CONFIRM summer transfer plan

Arsenal co-chairman Josh Kroenke has confirmed that Mikel Arteta will be heavily backed in the transfer market during the upcoming summer window as they attempt to win the Premier League title for the first time since 2004.
The Gunners are on course to secure a second-place finish in the English top flight for the third consecutive season, while exits to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, Manchester United in the FA Cup and Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup mean Arsenal will end the campaign without a major trophy for the fifth year in a row.
However, Kroenke has revealed that Arsenal will sign significant reinforcements this summer in a bid to end their trophy drought.
In an open message to Arsenal fans, Kroenke wrote: “We plan to invest to get behind winning and doing better next season.
“We’re delighted we have our sporting director, Andrea, who will play an important role in this. He is part of a unified and strong team, supported by the board, who are crystal clear on exactly what we need to do and the way in which we want to do it. The right way. The Arsenal way.”
Kroenke continued: “Ultimately, we all want the same thing. We’re as hungry for success as you are and that goes for everyone who works for the club.
“We have brilliant people right across Arsenal and I want to thank every member of staff for the dedication they have shown again this season. It’s something we have reflected on this week and it never goes unnoticed.”
Arsenal’s summer transfer targets
FootballTransfers understands that Arsenal will pursue moves for Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres and Athletic Club’s Nico Williams before the start of the new campaign, while Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi will become the Gunners’ first signing of the summer.
In addition, Arteta is also hoping to bring a new goalkeeper to the club, with Neto set to return to Bournemouth following the end of his loan spell.
