Should Arne Slot leave for Tottenham Hotspur, there is a good chance that in addition to Orkun Kukcu, Santiago Gimenez will also follow the Eredivisie-winning coach to London.

Slot, together with his agent Rafaela Pimenta, will talk to the Feyenoord club management on Wednesday and will probably indicate that he wants to make the switch to Spurs.

The list of interested clubs in Gimenez seems to be getting longer, with the Premier League side added to Milan, Lazio and Atletico Madrid in terms of interest for the Mexico international.

The Feyenoord striker has been in great shape in recent months and played a major role in Feyenoord’s Eredivisie success this season. Consequently, it may be that the dream marriage between Feyenoord and Gimenez is limited to just one season.

If it is up to Slot, the scorer of 15 goals in the league and 28 in all competitions will join him at Tottenham in the summer.

Gimenez a Kane replacement?

The head coach will be tasked with renovating the Londoners’ squad and fitting in new players where necessary. In addition, the coach will have to take into account a possible departure from star player Harry Kane, who is linked with Erik ten Hag's Manchester United.

The 22-year-old Mexican is in the picture to accommodate Kane's departure.

Gimenez, who was signed from Cruz Azul last summer for €4 million and has built his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) to €14m, has not indicated a clear wish to leave Feyenoord and the club itself would prefer to see the striker stay longer.

"If you ask me, now, I say I want to stay. I'm not done yet," Gimenez recently told Voetbal International. “I can still develop a lot further as a footballer. The problem is that sometimes you don't always have it in your own hands, football is unpredictable. But if I now listen to my head and my heart, they say both that I should stay.”

Slot, though, is ready to take him to Tottenham.
