Lionel Messi could be joined at Inter Miami by yet another South American star with Tata Martino speaking out about a potential new arrival.

Messi was back to his imperious best on Saturday with two goals and an assist as Inter beat Nashville 3-2 to two points clear in the MLS Eastern Conference standings, albeit having played a game more than New York Red Bulls.

He has been joined at the David Beckham-backed franchise by Luis Suarez this season, the pair reuniting with former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets - who got Inter's other goal on Saturday - and Jordi Alba.

Suarez arrived on a free from Gremio, and Inter are reportedly ready to raid Brazil again for Paraguay international midfielder Matias Rojas, who is out of contract with Corinthians at the end of the season.

Martino hinted that a deal for Rojas was in the works when asked by reporters if more South American's were Chase Stadium-bound after the Nashvile game.

Martino: 'wait a few more days

"I can't talk about players we don't have," he said, before conceding that the situation could change quickly. "Maybe wait a few more days and then we can talk."

Rojas has impressed Corinthians after joining since joining from Racing Club last year, dictating play from midfield and contributing three assists, but a contract dispute means he is available on a free.

Rojas has an ETV of €2.3 million according to FootballTransfers' in-house algorithm.

Inter have been linked with a host of Messi's former teammates, be it from Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain or Argentina, with Neymar, Angel Di Maria and Sergi Roberto all understood to have been targets in recent months.

They would only be adding to what has been a seismic impact for Messi in Miami. The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner has added a Leagues Cup to his trophy cabinet, while off-field, MLS viewership on Apple TV has reached record levels.
