Laporta BOMBSHELL: Barcelona could sign Erling Haaland

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has dropped a bombshell by admitting that his club could potentially sign Erling Haaland.
Haaland has regularly been linked with a move to Spain and his future has been questioned this summer given Man City's disastrous season and the risk of severe punishment in their court trial.
And Laporta has now admitted that Barcelona could sign Haaland.
“Nothing in life is impossible,” Laporta told TV3.
“However, we’re not thinking about that right now and he has just renewed at City.”
Haaland to Barcelona?
According to various Spanish reports in recent weeks, Haaland is not completely happy with the situation at Man City for a number of reasons.
The giant Norwegian striker has been left disappointed by the club's disastrous performance on the pitch as they have won no major trophies this season and are still fighting to just qualify for the Champions League, with two games remaining.
If Man City receive a heavy points penalty - which potentially could even be relegation - in their much-publicised trial, then it is already widely expected that Haaland will probably leave.
A verdict in the case is expected imminently, with City being charged with 130 alleged financial breaches.
An independent hearing has officially concluded following a four-year investigation conducted by UEFA.
Man City have denied any wrongdoing, but the club have been accused of failing to provide accurate financial information from 2009 to 2018, and failing to co-operate from 2018 to 2023.
If City are found guilty, there is a big chance that not only will they receive a heavy points penalty but they could even be relegated from the Premier League.
Real Madrid and Barcelona are long-term admirers of Haaland, and it has been repetatedly stated that his next move after City will be La Liga.
Both Barcelona or Real Madrid wanted to sign him when he left Borussia Dortmund for Man City in 2022.
Barcelona need a successor to Robert Lewandowski, who turns 37 this year.

Haaland never intended to stay at City for the long term when he arrived from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.
This is now his third season and he may also feel that he has achieved everything he wants to by the end of the current campaign.
The uncertain future of Pep Guardiola, who could also leave at the end of the season despite his contract extension, could also convince Haaland to depart.
Haaland scored an incredible 90 goals in 98 games in his first two seasons at Man City, winning every major trophy in the club game, including two Premier League titles and a Champions League.
He is also enjoying another goal-filled season this term despite City’s difficult campaign with 30 goals in 42 games.
