Nico Williams Transfer News Today: Barcelona U-TURN after London house-hunting mission

The latest Nico Williams transfer news and rumours as the Athletic Club winger continues to be linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal and Chelsea leading the way.
Barca back in for Nico
Barcelona have made a dramatic U-turn over the Athletic Club attacker, much to the delight of Lamine Yamal.
According to El Nacional, the Camp Nou outfit are once again hot on the heels of Nico following a decision to look for a more powerful winger to add to their attacking options.
Barca have looked at the likes of Rafael Leao and Luis Diaz but have been put off by asking prices around the €80-100 million mark.
With Nico Williams boasting a release clause of €58m, he has become a more viable target. He is seen as a more affordable option.
Barcelona know that he will not be easy to sign but the relationship with the player’s entourage is said to be good while the signing would also delight Lamine, who is a strong friend with his fellow Spain star.
Back on the field after a month out
On the field, Nico has received a boost with the news that he will be considered to play in Spain’s upcoming Nations League fixtures if he can prove himself fit with Athletic over the course of the next week, Marca reports.
He has been missing for five games due to a groin injury but is set to return imminently.

Williams in London house hunt
In a move that will perhaps indicate where his mind lies, Nico Williams has reportedly started looking for a house in London as he prepares for the summer ahead.
Williams has all but confirmed he will leave Bilbao this summer due to the €60 million release clause in his contract, which teams such as Arsenal and Chelsea are willing to activate.
And reports in Spain claim that Williams is already looking for a home in London, with the Premier League said to be his most likely destination.
No criticism if he leaves
Athletic legend Julen Guerrero will not blame Nico if he departs the club in the summer, despite being a one-club man himself.
He told Marca: “It's his decision. He’s just as respectable whether he wants to stay or not.
“A lot of people say: 'Hey, I would always stay'. I would love to see them if they had to make that decision and see what they would make by leaving.
“He's happy and the team loves him a lot, so a lot depends on him. And for me, I hope he stays at Athletic Club forever. But anyway, whatever decision he makes must be respected.”
