Alexander Isak: Arsenal deal ON after shock Eddie Howe revelation

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has left the door open for Alexander Isak to join Arsenal after making a surprising comment after the clubs clashed in the Premier League on Sunday.
A single strike from Declan Rice was enough to settle the game in Arsenal’s favour, and after the fixture, the Newcastle boss was questioned over the future of Isak.
The Sweden international striker is seen as the “dream” summer signing for the Gunners, who have also been linked with Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko and Liam Delap as they seek a reliable centre-forward.
While Arsenal would love to sign the 25-year-old Isak, the prevailing logic has been that Newcastle’s asking price would simply be too high. There have, however, been rumours of a bid worth €150 million.
Howe, meanwhile, refused to rule out a sensational deal for the former Real Sociedad striker, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €120m.
“I never make those guarantees about any player,” Howe told Sky Sports. “It's not to do with Alex's future, I'd be foolish to sit here and do anything like that.
“We want to keep our strongest players. I have said that as long as I've sat in this seat.
“We have to keep our strongest players and bring in more good players to make us stronger because of the ambition of the club and everybody connected with it is long-term success, and that's the only way we can try to get that.”

Will Isak join Arsenal?
Despite Howe’s words, Newcastle still appear likely to retain Isak through the summer.
The Magpies are in an improving position with regards the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) and are planning talks over new contracts with Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali, according to TBR Football.
For Isak, it would likely take a monumental bid, the type of which Arsenal are unlikely to make given that Mikel Arteta’s squad also needs midfield and full-back reinforcements.
