Rodrygo says YES as Arsenal choose between Eze and Real Madrid star
Rodrygo is edging towards giving the thumbs up to a summer move to Arsenal, who must now decide whether to sign the Real Madrid star or Eberechi Eze.
The Gunners have been embarking on a summer spending spree as having already signed Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad for €70m, Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea for €5.8m and Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard for €12m, they are now closing two more deals.
Noni Madueke will arrive from Chelsea for €60m, Cristhian Mosquera is undergoing his medical to join from Valencia for €20m, while Viktor Gyokeres is expected to complete his transfer from Sporting Lisbon for €63.5m plus €10m in add-ons.
Despite an outlay of just under €250m on these above players, Arsenal are still planning to spend big on a left sided attacker.
Will Arsenal sign Rodrygo or Eze?
It now appears to be a straight choice between Real Madrid star Rodrygo or Crystal Palace man Eberechi Eze for this role.
BBC Sport journalist Sami Mokbel confirmed on the Latte Firm podcast that Arsenal are "very interested" in signing Rodrygo and that the player's camp have made it clear to the Gunners that the Brazilian is "seriously considering" the move.
Mokbel adds, though, that a possible sticking point could be the finances assoociated with the deal as Rodrygo will cost around €90 million in transfer fee plus a huge salary.
For this reason, Mokbel believes that Eze could be the easier player for Arsenal to sign.
According to multiple sources, Arsenal are currently in talks with Crystal Palace for the FA Cup hero, who scored the winner in the final against Man City in May.
Eze has a release clause in his Crystal Palace contract, which is above €70 million but differs depending on the source.
Arsenal are believed to be trying to negotiate a lower fee, while the player himself has already given his approval to join the Gunners.
Arsenal will ultimately have to make a decision between Rodrygo and Eze at some point soon.
