Arsenal to raise €87m for Eze by selling five reserves
Arsenal are hoping to raise around €87 million (£75m) with the sale of five fringe players, in order to fund the signing of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.
The Gunners are pushing hard for the signing of England star Eze after securing the arrival of top target Viktor Gyokeres. FootballTransfers recently revealed that Arsenal are ready to go 'all in' on the Crystal Palace magician.
Personal terms with Eze have already been agreed, and the 27-year-old has informed the Eagles of his desire to make the move to North London. However, we also reported that both Arsenal and Eze are keen to respect Palace.
Eze is not forcing through a transfer and has remained available for selection so far in pre-season. Similarly, Arsenal are understanding of the fact that the attacker would be a huge loss for Oliver Glasner and Steve Parish and have given them time to identify potential replacements.
Arsenal sell players to fund Eze
In the meantime, according to the Daily Express, Arsenal are planning to offload five fringe players in order to raise the cash for Eze.
The Express claims that the Gunners hope to raise around €87m with these sales.
The five players in question are Reiss Nelson, Reiss Nelson, Fabio Vieira, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Leandro Trossard.
Arsenal have had an expensive market already this summer, with a net spend of over €200m and so they must now start to recoup some money having made only €8m in sales.
Eze, who famously scored the winner in the FA Cup final against Man City, has become one of the Premier League’s most admired players in recent years.
He has played for Palace for five years, scoring 39 goals in 166 games.
He is expected to leave Palace this summer in order to make the next step up.
Eze has been capped 11 times by England, scoring one goal. He played at Euro 2024.
Eze has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €62.7m, so his release fee is not seriously above his true worth.
