Man Utd make decision on Bruno Fernandes summer sale
Manchester United are reportedly eager to finalise a new contract with Bruno Fernandes and will not accept a sale this summer unless they receive an offer worth €70 million.
The Portugal international has less than 18 months remaining on his current deal at Old Trafford and he has been widely tipped to depart the club during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Multiple clubs in Saudi Arabia are known admirers of Fernandes and they are expected to rekindle their interest in his signature later this year, despite reports suggesting he isn’t keen on moving to the Middle East at this stage of his career.
The 31-year-old has, however, also attracted the attention of Paris Saint-Germain, according to Fichajes.
It’s claimed that Luis Enrique is keen to bring Fernandes to the Parc des Princes to form an all-Portuguese midfield trio with Vitinha and Joao Neves, and the Ligue 1 giants are reportedly in contact with the Man Utd star’s representatives ahead of a potential swoop.
However, Michael Carrick’s side will not sanction a sale unless they receive an offer of at least €70m, despite the fact Fernandes will be able on a Bosman deal in 2027.
It’s understood that Man Utd want to finalise a new deal with their club captain rather than sanction a sale, but he has been identified as a priority target by the PSG hierarchy ahead of this summer.
Who will Man Utd sign to replace Bruno Fernandes?
If Fernandes departs Man Utd, the 13-time Premier League champions are expected to pursue a blockbuster deal for Chelsea superstar Cole Palmer, as reported by FootballTransfers back in January.
The England international has been constantly linked with a Stamford Bridge exit in recent months and he could be set to leave the club if Man Utd lodge a suitable bid this summer.
The Red Devils have also been linked with his compatriot, and close friend, Morgan Rogers, who has enjoyed an excellent campaign at Aston Villa.
