Chelsea set NEW Cole Palmer asking price
Chelsea have reportedly set their asking price for Cole Palmer at €200 million amid transfer interest from Manchester United.
The England international is viewed as an ideal replacement for Bruno Fernandes by the Red Devils hierarchy, as exclusively reported by FootballTransfers, and rumours suggest he is keen to return to Manchester this year.
Palmer has struggled with a groin issue throughout the 2025-26 season and his visible dissatisfaction at his own form has fuelled further speculation that a Chelsea departure could be on the cards.
Man Utd are understood to be monitoring the situation ahead of this summer, however Spanish publication Fichajes claim they will be required to pay a club record fee of €200m to sign the 23-year-old.
Paul Pogba remains Man Utd’s all-time record signing thanks to his €105m move from Juventus in 2016, and the Red Devils will reportedly need to pay close to double that figure to acquire Palmer’s signature this year.
Chelsea view the Englishman as one of their “untouchable” stars and they have no intention of sanctioning a sale this summer, especially as his current contract isn’t due to expire until 2033. However, Fichajes claim that a bid worth €200m could tempt the west London giants into a deal.
Liam Rosenior downplays Cole Palmer exit talk
Despite increasing rumours that Palmer could leave Stamford Bridge this summer, Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has downplayed the possibility of a departure later this year.
Speaking to reporters ahead of Chelsea’s 3-2 win over Napoli on Wednesday, Rosenior said: “It’s simple, Cole’s an incredible player. I’m not surprised at the timing [of transfer rumours].
“A new manager comes in and all of a sudden there’s people unsettled. It’s not true. Cole’s here, he’s very happy and I can’t wait to see him back on the pitch.
“There’s no reason for assurance. It’s so unrealistic. It’s come from nowhere. There’s nothing in it. There’s no reason to have the conversation. That’s where I’m at. Cole is very happy. I’ve had numerous conversations with him. Our thoughts are on how we can make this team better, how he can improve and how I can help him.
“He loves being here and he wants to be a Chelsea player. You can’t stop speculation, but some speculation is so far from the truth. There’s no point in having a discussion about it.
After the match, the Blues manager added: “He's a world-class player. There's been a lot of talk about Cole - he was a very, very happy man in the changing room after the game.”
