Tino Livramento will be sidelined for the next eight weeks, ruling out a move to Arsenal and prompting Newcastle to take immediate action in the market.

The England international has been forced into a second lengthy spell on the treatment table after suffering a hamstring injury against Bournemouth at the weekend. Livramento already missed several weeks of action earlier in the season with a knee problem.

The 23-year-old will be out for at least eight weeks, which has confirmed Newcastle's "worst fears" in the words of Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie. Livramento is set to miss a whopping 15 games.

With only Kieran Trippier and Emil Krafth available - both of whom are on the wrong side of 30 - Newcastle could now look to dip into the market for a new right-back, Downie reports.

FootballTransfers reported earlier this month that Arsenal had begun monitoring Livramento with a view to making a move for him. Of course, this is now entirely out of the question.

Could Newcastle make a move for White?

Ironically, instead of Arsenal raiding Newcastle for a right-back, it could now be the other way around following Livramento's injury. Although the Magpies were not explicitly named, Sky Sports confirmed earlier on Tuesday that Ben White is drawing significant transfer interest.

He would be a sensible reinforcement for Newcastle, who already have former Arsenal star Aaron Ramsdale on their books. However, it has also been claimed that the Gunners have no intention of listening to offers for the 28-year-old.

White is frustrated with his game time this season, having only played 673 minutes of football. He has made just two stars in the Champions League and four in the Premier League after falling behind Jurrien Timber in the pecking order.

Everton are known to be interested in the former England star. However, he appears to have numerous suitors in England and on the continent. He's under contract until 2028 with the option for a further season, so a permanent move would likely be quite expensive.
