Everton are seeking to sign Arsenal full-back Ben White in a bid to address a problem that has long dogged David Moyes’ side.

White has struggled for game time at the Emirates Stadium this season and Everton are seeking to take advantage of this with a move for the 28-year-old, according to Football Insider, which indicates that the Toffees want him to plug a “problematic” area in their side.

The possibility of a loan to the Liverpool club has been mooted, with Arsenal concerned about the number of injury issues that White has picked up in recent times. The latest of these arrived against Wolves on 13 December, when he sustained a hamstring problem.

Ben White unhappy at Arsenal

FootballTransfers exclusively revealed that Ben White is not happy with his lack of minutes at Arsenal. It’s been a problem that has been simmering in North London for some time.

He has made only 12 appearances this season for Mikel Arteta’s Premier League leaders, having been pushed behind Jurrien Timber in the pecking order.

Any sale of White would likely require a response from Arsenal, despite his peripheral status. It is one that the Gunners appear ready to make.

Arsenal have lined up Livramento

FootballTransfers detailed the North London side’s interest in Newcastle full-back Tino Livramento as a potential replacement for him.

The 23-year-old fits the profile of player that Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta want to sign. His ability to play on the left or right is attractive to the Gunners, who are also wary of Riccardo Calafiori’s recent injury concerns.

While Everton are likely to seek a loan move for White, it could lead to the England full-back being sold for a sizeable price – one that would likely cover much of Livramento’s transfer fee. White’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) sits at €44m, while Livramento is worth €54.5m.

With Newcastle likely to be heavily resistant to Livramento departing in January, it puts into question whether Arsenal will be willing to sanction White’s move to Everton, particularly if only a loan is on the cards.
