Manchester United have their eyes on another Premier League wonderkid to solve their midfield problems after a breakout season so far.

United are expected to target two elite midfielders in 2026, with the likes of Adam Wharton, Carlos Baleba and Elliot Anderson featuring high on their shortlist.

However, United are aware that all their top targets could command fees in excess of €80 million each, prompting the club to explore other options, including one new star whom they’ve held a long-term interest in.

According to TEAMtalk, United are ‘paying close attention’ to Noah Sadiki after his impressive start to life with Sunderland, having watched the 20-year-old since well before his €17 million transfer to Wearside this summer.

United are believed to have held talks with Sadiki, along with Crystal Palace, Tottenham, Leeds and West Han, while Chelsea’s BlueCo owners took interest with the view of bringing the DR Congo international to Strasbourg.

In spite of the interest, Sunderland are said to have ‘no desire’ to part ways with Sadiki next summer, while the player himself is thought to be happy at the club and not listening to the speculation surrounding his future.

Granit Xhaka is the only outfielder to have played more minutes than Sadiki for Sunderland this season and the pair have formed a strong partnership in the middle of the park for the Black Cats.

Sadiki’s progress has reignited United’s interest in him along with Spurs, while BlueCo could now look to bring the youngster to Chelsea instead after his development in the Premier League.

Although Sunderland are insistent on keeping Sadiki, it is claimed that they may be tempted to cash in if offered a chance to more than triple their money with a €60m offer.

Sadiki is not expected to push to leave Sunderland any time soon, particularly with their impressive rise up the Premier League table but the former Union SG midfielder has ‘Champions League ambitions’ and may have his head turned by speculation should it intensify.
