Liverpool make Arne Slot sack decision after 'emergency meeting'
Liverpool have reportedly informed Arne Slot that he must win both of his next two Premier League matches after an “emergency meeting” was scheduled following their loss to PSV Eindhoven.
The Reds suffered a 4-1 defeat to the Eredivisie outfit in the Champions League on Wednesday night, meaning they have now lost nine of their last 12 matches across all competitions dating back to late September.
Slot is under increasing pressure to fix results and the Anfield hierarchy have issued a “final warning” to the Dutchman.
That is according to renowned X account IndyKaila, who claims that Slot has been told he must beat West Ham United and Sunderland in Liverpool’s next two Premier League fixtures following an emergency meeting after the loss to PSV.
The reigning English top flight champions are currently languishing down in 11th place in the Premier League table after 12 matches, nine points behind league leaders Arsenal and one place below arch-rivals Everton.
A summer spending spree of close to €500 million was intended to provide Slot with the resources needed to defend Liverpool’s crown, however his side have regressed massively and they now face an uphill battle to challenge for the title.
Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak and Milos Kerkez have all failed to adapt to life at Anfield since their arrivals over the summer, while centre-back duo Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk have been heavily criticised amid their form so far this term.

Jamie Carragher issues Arne Slot sack verdict
While pressure on Slot is at an all-time high, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher doesn’t believe his former club will sack the Dutchman just yet.
“Liverpool's not a sacking club,” Carragher told CBS Sports on Wednesday (via Sky Sports).
“Liverpool are different from almost every club in European football, where the manager is the king, the managers get time. Liverpool have never sacked a manager who's won the league. Never, in history. After a few years they've gone, they've resigned.
“I couldn't believe at the weekend that people were talking about the manager's job when I spoke to Liverpool supporters after losing a home to Nottingham Forest. It's only going to amplify now.”
Carragher added: “I've always been in the camp of you stick with the manager, because I'm angry with the players, I'm really angry with the players.
“But it does get to a stage with any manager at any club where I always use this word, untenable, where it almost feels like it can't go on any longer.
“I'm not quite there yet personally, in terms of the manager, but I know a lot of supporters will be.”
