Manchester United fans have urged INEOS to sack Ruben Amorim following their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

A Phil Foden header and a brace from Erling Haaland condemned the Red Devils to their third loss of the season in all competitions, with Amorim’s side currently in 14th place in the Premier League table, having only won one of their opening four fixtures.

The defeat also means Amorim now only has a 22% win rate in the Premier League since being appointed as the permanent replacement for Erik ten Hag last November.

Meanwhile, no ever-present English top flight club has accrued fewer than Man Utd’s 31 points since Amorim’s arrival.

The Red Devils have been in relegation form throughout Amorim’s time in charge and his refusal to move away from his preferred 3-4-3 system is now a real issue for fans and pundits alike.

Man Utd spent a whopping €250.7 million on new signings over the summer, however Benjamin Sesko looks incredibly raw and the lack of service he has received since arriving is extremely reminiscent of Rasmus Hojlund’s first few months at Old Trafford.

Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo have both impressed in bursts, but only have one Premier League goal between them, while Senne Lammens and Diego Leon are yet to feature following their arrivals.

Man Utd legend Gary Neville now believes that Amorim could be sacked by his former club.

“I think there will be some pressure applied to the manager and his rigidity of sticking with the system,” Neville told Sky Sports after the defeat to Man City.

“There have been times when I have seen United lose this type of match when I feel angry and frustrated. I just feel nothing, which is even worse. This has been a nothing of a performance. United have just been beaten.

“With Chelsea next week, another defeat and big questions would start to be asked.”
