Casemiro goes FULL CR7 to become first name on Man Utd team sheet
Casemiro's impressive start to the season for Manchester United has been put down to his leaner shape and special diet.
Nathan Salt reveals in the Daily Mail how Casemiro has cut out all sugar and his diet is very fish-focused.
This has led to Casemiro displaying a lean shape comparable to his former United and Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
The report adds that despite being 33 Casemiro has one of the lowest body fat percentages in Amorim’s squad.
He has become an example for the younger players at Man Utd.
Casemiro improved form
As a result, Casemiro has had an excellent start to the season and become one an indispenable player for Ruben Amorim.
It is some turnaround for the Brazilian, who had seemed certain to be transfer listed and sold going into the final weeks of last season.
But the Brazilian ended the campaign brilliantly to lead United into the Europa League final and he has impressed further so far this season.
Man Utd had been trying to offload Casemiro in the previous two transfer windows and he was close to joining Roma in January.
The Brazilian was transfer listed in the summer of 2024 but the midfielder was unwilling to take a drastic pay cut as he is Man Utd’s highest paid player on £18.2 million per year.
But he is now set to stay at least until his contract expires in 2026.
Casemiro was arguably Man Utd’s signature move of the summer of 2022, as they splashed out over €70 million for the legendary midfielder from Real Madrid.
Some critics questioned paying such a large sum of money for a player who was already 30.
The 33-year-old performed well for much of his first season and he played a key role in them winning the Carabao Cup.
However, his form fell off badly in the 2023-24 campaign for a Man Utd team that endured a disastrous Premier League and Champions League season.
United finished in eighth place, out of the European places and with a negative goal difference. They also were knocked out of the Champions League group stages, finishing bottom of a group containing Bayern Munich, Copenhagen and Galatasaray, and conceding more goals than any English team in a group campaign ever.
They did win the FA Cup, but Casemiro did not play in the final.
Last season, things initially got even worse for Casemiro but he enjoyed a strong end to the season and showed more of his old form.
