Fabrizio Romano confirms another Man City superstar could leave
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed there is a "concrete chance" Bernardo Silva could leave Manchester City on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Silva's contract at the Etihad expires next summer and there have been constant reports that the Portuguese will not sign a new deal at the club.
Romano has revealed in his latest YouTube video in Italian that there is a "concrete chance" that Silva leaves the club.
The Italian journalist adds that a move to Serie A - with Juventus very interested - or to the Middle East are two potential destinations.
Romano added that Barcelona and PSG are long-term admirers of Silva.
Silva is well known to be a big fan of Barcelona and pushed hard for a transfer to the club in the summer of 2022.
Barcelona and Man City were in negotiations over the move, with Blaugrana coach Xavi wanting the midfielder to replace Frenkie de Jong, who had been put up for sale by the club.
In the end De Jong refused to move and a deal for Bernardo could not be closed with City.
What did Bernardo Silva say?
Speaking ahead of Man City's Champions League game against his former club Monaco on Wednesday, Silva did little to quell the rumours he will leave on a free transfer.
"I know exactly what I'm going to do but it's not the time to focus on it," he said.
"It's to do my best, to put the club back to where it belongs. We've had a lot of captains who've left but it's for the guys who have the most experience to pass it on to the young guys."
If he does leave he would be the latest big-name player to leave Man City on a free transfer, following the likes of Kevin de Bruyne and Sergio Aguero, who did the same in recent years.
Bernardo joined Man City from Monaco in 2017 for €50 million and has gone on to make over 400 appearances for the club.
He has been one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and Europe during that time, winning six Premier League titles, a Champions League trophy. He has won 17 trophies in total for City.
Bernardo has also won over 100 caps for Portugal, winning two UEFA Nations League trophies.
