Arsenal are reportedly close to finalising contract terms with Bukayo Saka and William Saliba as they look to tie both players down to new long-term deals.

The Gunners enjoyed a hugely successful summer transfer window, splashing a whopping €293.5 million on eight new players, including Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze, and attention has now turned to reach contract extension agreements with Saka and Saliba.

The pair are both set to become free agents in 2027, as things stand, and Arsenal are determined to extend their spells at the club, partly in order to avoid losing them on a Bosman deal.

FootballTransfers understands that Arsenal are on the verge of agreeing a deal to extend Saliba’s contract, while Saka is also in advanced negotiations to sign a contract extension at the Emirates Stadium.

Meanwhile, The Daily Briefing have confirmed that Saka and Saliba will both “100%” be staying at Arsenal, despite rumours that Real Madrid are eager to sign the latter on a free transfer in 2027.

Arsenal signed Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie to bolster their defensive roster this summer, however it appears as though neither player will be tasked with replacing Saliba in north London.

Arteta has also confirmed that Arsenal are locked in ongoing talks over new deals for both Saka and Saliba.

During his pre-match press conference ahead of Arsenal's clash against Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon, Arteta was asked whether the pair are close to signing new contracts in north London.

He replied: “That never stops, but I think the collaboration between the club, what Andrea [Berta] is doing, and the agents, is very good.

“I think the good thing is that the players want to remain here and they want to be a big part of the history of this club in the next few years and that is always positive and Andrea will drive that and see where we go.”
