Man City are in negotiations to sign Donnarumma, with reports they have already agreed personal terms and are just waiting for Ederson to be sold to Galatasaray before bringing in the Italian.

There have been reports elsewhere that Man Utd and Chelsea could also make a move for Donnarumma.

Jan Aage Fjortoft claims on Wednesday that United are interested in the ex-Milan star and that Donnarumma could still end up at Old Trafford.

But he says that United must first sell a goalkeeper before they can bring one in.

As for Chelsea, though, Romano said on the ‘Here we Go’ podcast that they have no plans to try and sign Donnarumma.

What did Romano say?

“There has been lots of Chelsea goalkeeper rumours since they tried to sign Mike Maignan at the start of June,” Romano said.

“Since that moment Chelsea have always been clear in their position.

“They have no intention to sign a goalkeeper.

“Trust Robert Sanchez, trust Filip Jorgensen. They believe Mike Penders will be their goalkeeper of the future who is on loan at Strasbourg.

“They sold Petrovic. The strategy was always keep two, loan one, sell one.

“Chelsea are really relaxed on goalkeepers.

“They have not negotiated for Donnarumma. The club that is negotiating for Donnarumma is Manchester City.

“They want to go for Donnarumma if Ederson leaves the club.”

Chelsea began the new Premier League season with a disappointing 0-0 home draw with Crystal Palace.

The Blues have been very active in the transfer market this summer, splashing the cash on the likes of Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens and many more players.

They also hope to bring in Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho before the end of the month, but first they must sell players.
