Premier League clubs unsurprisingly dominate the spending charts once again, with Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City currently boasting the biggest transfer expenditure in the world so far this summer.

Meanwhile, there are 10 English top flight teams in the top 12 clubs with the highest transfer spend this window, with newly-promoted Sunderland and Burnley among those to have splashed the cash in the market.

World-renowned superstars such as Florian Wirtz, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Viktor Gyokeres and Paul Pogba are among those to have moved teams this summer, and a number of major deals are still expected to go through before Transfer Deadline Day closes on 1 September.

Chelsea, for example, are hoping to finalise the signings of RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Xavi Simons and Man Utd winger Alejandro Garnacho, while they are eager to offload nine players, including Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson.

Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of completing a deal for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, after hijacking Arsenal’s proposed move for the England international, and they are also interested in Man City star Savinho.

Liverpool have already spent the most of any club in world football so far this summer, but they have agreed personal terms with Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi and they are still eager to finalise a Premier League record transfer for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.

The Sweden international has been exiled from first-team training after handing in a transfer request, but Newcastle are reportedly reluctant to sanction a sale unless they receive an offer in excess of €150m.

In Europe, Atalanta star Ademola Lookman is desperate to join Inter Milan and is growing increasingly frustrated by his situation in Bergamo. Meanwhile, Dusan Vlahovic has been linked with a move from Juventus to AC Milan and Barcelona have been offered the chance to sign Benjamin Pavard, as per reports.
