Ronaldo in 'biggest market BOMB' as Al-Nassr launch Bruno Fernandes assault
Al-Nassr are plotting a sensational swoop for Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, according to Portuguese media.
The Saudi giants are in the midst of a sensational attack on the transfer market as they seek to finally give star man Cristiano Ronaldo the tools to win the Pro League next season.
Ronaldo has penned a lucrative contract extension with the Riyadh outfit and been given sway over transfer business. The Portuguese influence is being massively felt now, with Jorge Jesus having come in as the club's new head coach and Simao Coutinho as the new sporting director.
Moreover, Al-Nassr have just splashed €30 million on Chelsea flop Joao Felix, with the deal expected to rise as high as €50m. However, they are still not done.
On the contrary, the 'biggest market bomb' has yet to come as A Bola reports that Al-Nassr are eyeing an audacious move for Man Utd captain Bruno Fernandes.
Al-Nassr want Fernandes
The Red Devils superstar, of course, is no stranger to Saudi interest. Earlier this summer, Al-Nassr's local rivals Al-Hilal were ready to pay an eye-watering amount of money to sign Fernandes.
The Portugal international, however, decided to remain at Man Utd after being made 'untouchable' by compatriot Ruben Amorim. Al-Nassr are confident that the combination of Ronaldo and Jesus - Fernandes' former Sporting CP coach - can convince the 30-year-old to abandon Man Utd.
Money isn't an issue for the government-backed side. Contact with Fernandes appears to have been made on Thursday to see if there is a deal to be done, but it is unclear if Fernandes engaged as he did with Al-Hilal in June.
For now, Al-Nassr are just testing the waters, but there is a certain confidence that they are a more appealing proposition for Fernandes than their Riyadh rivals.
