Fabrizio Romano Transfer News: Chelsea signing '100% CONFIRMED', Baleba WANTS Man Utd, Eze DECISION
Football transfer news reporter Fabrizio Romano has delivered the latest news from the 2025 summer window, with updates on Alejandro Garnacho, Carlos Baleba and Eberechi Eze.
Three signings confirmed
Fabrizio Romano began his latest YouTube video by confirming the imminent transfers of Arnaud Kalimuendo, Toby Collyer and Kingsley Coman.
“Let's start with Arnaud Kalimuendo, the striker from Rennes on the verge of joining Nottingham Forest for €30 million. That deal is being completed today.”
Romano added: “Toby Collyer is leaving Manchester United on a loan deal to go to West Brom with no buy option included. Man Utd believe in the player for the future but they want to let him play on a regular basis and the deal is almost done.
“Then guys, one confirmation. Kingsley Coman to Al-Nassr. Last week, I told you Al-Nassr were in negotiations for Coman and now the deal is formally completed. The final green light from Bayern to the player to travel for a medical test and contract signing has arrived. Bayern will receive around €30m from Al-Nassr and the contract will be valid for three years.”
Christopher Nkunku to Bayern as Garnacho to Chelsea given ‘100%’ message
Bayern Munich are eager to sign a new attacker to replace Coman and his departure will provide Vincent Kompany with the funds needed to bolster his forward line at the Allianz Arena.
“For Bayern, the dream target of this summer transfer window is Nick Woltemade, but there is still no agreement with Stuttgart,” Romano confirmed. “Bayern keep working on the Woltemade deal because they have an agreement with the player and they want to make it happen.
“Keep an eye on Christopher Nkunku because Bayern always had an interest in Nkunku and they have a very good relationship with his agents. Many clubs have called about Nkunku in recent weeks: Inter, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Newcastle and many others called to understand the situation. But Bayern are seriously considering this opportunity.
“Why? Because Nkunku can play in several positions and he can be a versatile player to add to the squad. Chelsea insist on a permanent transfer as of today, but obviously remember if Nkunku leaves, the idea of Chelsea is to try to complete the deal for Xavi Simons.”
Romano continued: “Chelsea keep working on the Simons deal and the negotiations are ongoing. The deal remains on, but obviously the outgoings of Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson will be important.
“We know about Simons and we also know about the Alejandro Garnacho situation. We will wait and see what's going to happen but for sure Chelsea remain in active conversations for both of them. I think Garnacho will 100% happen. For Simons, negotiations are ongoing and Chelsea are waiting for the exit of Nkunku.”
Eberechi Eze wants to join Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur have officially hijacked Arsenal’s deal for Crystal Palace superstar Eberechi Eze and the England international is now keen to join Thomas Frank’s side before Transfer Deadline Day.
“Tottenham are not only working on Savinho, but also for Eberechi Eze,” Romano revealed. “Tottenham are preparing a proposal to send to Crystal Palace to try to get the deal done, and the negotiation is set to start very soon.
“My understanding is that the player is clearly indicating to Crystal Palace that he is keen on a move to Tottenham. Now the deal depends on the two clubs.
“Savinho is a safer story. At the moment, Manchester City have been clear that for €50m, €55m and €60m, the player is not leaving. A higher bid is needed in order for Savinho to go to Tottenham. In that case, Man City will try for the deal of Rodrygo, which is not easy, but it's still the deal discussed internally.”
Liverpool sign new defender
Liverpool have already spent €293.7m on new signings so far this summer, but they have now reached an agreement to sign Parma defender Giovanni Leoni, while they are also eager to land Marc Guehi and Alexander Isak.
“Liverpool have their new defender, Giovanni Leoni. Here we go. The deal is done. The player is on Merseyside today for a medical test and contract signing,” Romano admitted.
“A €35m fee, plus 10% sell-on clause, and Leoni goes to Liverpool. Forget about a loan, Leoni is a player for the first-team as they are in love with this talent.
“Leoni already decided weeks ago to go to Liverpool and the player is really super happy about that.
“Don't forget also about Marc Guehi because Liverpool keep working on the deal.”
Carlos Baleba keen to join Man Utd
Man Utd have turned their attention to finalising a deal for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba and the Cameroon star is eager to complete a move to Old Trafford this summer. However, a deal will be extremely difficult.
“For Carlos Baleba, the contacts are still ongoing,” Romano said. “This is a difficult deal for Man Utd, not just financially but also in terms of strategy because Brighton are still not giving an official number to Man Utd.
“There was a similar situation with Moises Caicedo when he went to Chelsea. They were not giving a number, then when Liverpool arrived with an official bid, Chelsea matched that bid, offered a bit more and signed the player.
“Brighton’s message is quite clear: We don't want to sell. But, Man Utd are still there, they are still in contact with the agents and they are still working on the deal.
“It’s very difficult of course but the player is not closing the doors at all. Personal terms are not a problem and no European football this season is not a problem for Baleba. He would go to Man Utd immediately, I can guarantee that.
“But club-to-club, we are still far from a solution.”
