Chelsea have already spent €279.7 million on eight new signings so far this summer, but the club have balanced this by earning €151.6m through player sales over the past two months.

Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro and Jorrel Hato are among the stars to have secured a Stamford Bridge switch ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, while Noni Madueke, Joao Felix, Djordje Petrovic and Kepa Arrizabalaga have been sold.

However, the Blues are far from finished in the market. Below, FootballTransfers runs through the latest updates regarding Chelsea’s transfer activity.

Chelsea transfers: Who is close to leaving?

Chelsea are on the verge of sanctioning a host of sales that will drastically reduce the size of Maresca’s squad.

Burnley have reached an agreement to sign Armando Broja and Lesley Ugochukwu on permanent deals, while Everton have finalised a deal for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

All three transfers are expected to be formally announced this week.

In addition, Marc Guiu has agreed to join Sunderland on loan and Borussia Dortmund are in advanced talks to sign Carney Chukwuemeka on a permanent deal following a promising loan spell last season.

Axel Disasi, Renato Veiga, Ben Chilwell, Alfie Gilchrist, Raheem Sterling, Christopher Nkunku and David Datro Fofana are also expected to leave Chelsea permanently.

Meanwhile, Tyrique George has asked to be sold in search of regular first-team football, and Nicolas Jackson is “increasingly likely” to depart amid interest from across Europe.

Aaron Anselmino and Omari Kellyman may leave Stamford Bridge on loan if a suitable proposal is lodged.

Chelsea transfers: Who is close to joining?

Chelsea are currently focused on outgoings, although they are still expected to sign at least two more players before the summer transfer window closes on 1 September.

RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Xavi Simons is Chelsea’s primary transfer target as things stand, while they are also eager to sign Manchester United outcast Alejandro Garnacho amid his uncertain future at Old Trafford.

It appears highly likely that Simons and Garnacho will both join Chelsea this summer, although the latter may not secure a move if the aforementioned Jackson remains at the club.

Chelsea have decided against signing a new goalkeeper after an initial approach for Mike Maignan in June, while they have addressed their need for a new left-back by adding the aforementioned Hato.

As a result, Simons and Garnacho appear to be the only two players likely to join Chelsea this month, although this could change if an exciting youngster becomes available.
