Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has issued a defiant message to Joao Pedro and Liam Delap amid significant rumours that he could leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

The Senegal star has been Chelsea’s preferred centre forward since his arrival from Villarreal in 2023, but he appears to have been demoted to third-choice following the summer signings of Pedro and Delap.

Jackson scored 13 goals in 37 matches last season, but he received two red cards during his final five appearances of the campaign and Chelsea subsequently opted to bring both Pedro and Delap to the club in June.

Enzo Maresca’s side are willing to keep Jackson at the club ahead of their return to the Champions League, although they will consider a sale if a suitable offer is submitted.

When asked for his thoughts on the arrivals of Pedro and Delap, and the competition they will provide, Jackson told D Sports: “Competition? I have no competition. We're all here to help the club. Everyone has their role to play. I'm on a mission. It's up to the coach to make his choices. I focus solely on my work.”

Jackson added: “I'm a Chelsea player. The future belongs to God. If there are any changes, you'll know. For now, I'm focused on my preparation.”

Will Nicolas Jackson leave Chelsea this summer?

As exclusively reported by FootballTransfers back in May, Jackson was earmarked as a target by Manchester United, amid their pursuit of a new centre forward, although Ruben Amorim’s side have now turned their attention to finalising a deal for RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.

Aston Villa have also been linked with a move for Jackson, but they are unlikely to pursue a deal unless Ollie Watkins is sold before the end of the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, reports of interest from Barcelona have emerged in recent days, however the Blaugrana have a limited transfer budget and they are unlikely to match Chelsea’s asking price of at least €81m (£70m).

As a result, Jackson could end up remaining at Chelsea, despite the fact he is expected to be behind both Pedro and Delap in the pecking order.
