Garnacho’s Chelsea stance revealed as new Man Utd humiliation confirmed
Alejandro Garnacho continues to be strongly linked with a move to Chelsea, with Manchester United pushing the Argentina international out of Old Trafford by making him one of four first-team players Ruben Amorim has taken decisive action against.
Garnacho’s relationship with Amorim has crumbled to such an extent that he is being forced out of Man Utd.
The winger wants to remain in the Premier League, and while several clubs are taking an interest in developments, Chelsea are leading the way to sign him.
Man Utd have set an asking price of at least €46 million (£40m), according to TalkSport, but Chelsea are seeking to reduce this figure by including players in a trade. Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkuku, who have both been linked with the Red Devils this year, have both been offered in a part-exchange.
Garnacho has decided that he wants to move to Chelsea, The Mirror reports. It claims that the players has “set his heart on a move”.
Man Utd might not be so dead set on selling him, however. Ruben Amorim has previously indicated that players will only be allowed to depart if the club’s valuation is met.
"Some players have to find a new place to have more space in the team and other players clearly show they want a new challenge and want new teams," he told reporters last week.
"We are just allowing these players to have time to think and to decide. If we reach a point where they have to join the team, they will join the team because they are our players.
"I'm ready to receive the players. They have more competition, more competition if you want to play in the World Cup next year, you need to play.
Garnacho relegated to the U21s
Man Utd are stepping up their attempts to clear their ‘Bomb Squad’ out of Old Trafford.
Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia have all been moved to the U21 dressing room in a fresh humiliation for these stars, Centre Devils report.
Amorim is seeking to raise funds as rapidly as possible in order to complete key deals, with a move for a striker next on his priority list. RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko is currently the leading target in that regard.
