Rashford gives 'GREEN LIGHT' to reunion with Mourinho
Marcus Rashford could be offered an intriguing exit route out of Manchester United after allegedly giving the green light to Jose Mourinho for a reunion with him at Fenerbahce.
Rashford is one of a number of players who have been allowed to delay their return to pre-season training in order to facilitate a transfer away from United, although the forward is understood to have opted against the extra time off, instead choosing to undergo individual sessions away from the first team.
United are hoping to cash in on the 27-year-old this summer and he will be given no way back into the squad, with Rashford’s number ten shirt being given to new signing Matheus Cunha.
Rashford has accepted he has no future at United and has already pushed to find a new opportunity elsewhere, with Barcelona at the top of his list, however Turkish outlet fotomac claim that Fenerbahce are preparing to ‘detonate’ a ‘bombshell’ by targeting the England international this summer.
The Turkish side’s director of football is believed to be flying to England this weekend to hold talks with United and Rashford’s representatives over a transfer for a loan with the option to buy.
Crucially, Mourinho is described to have ‘personally intervened’ in the deal by contacting Rashford by phone to inquire about his intentions, to which the player is said to have given the ‘green light’ which has sparked Fenerbahce into action.
Rashford future still unknown as United wait for permanent offers
Fenerbahce are keen to add more pedigree to their squad after signing Jhon Duran on loan from Al-Nassr, having seen rivals Galatasaray close in on the signing of their own marquee arrival in Victor Osimhen.
However, United would prefer to permanently sell Rashford this summer and are hoping to obtain a fee of around €40 million for his signature, although concrete opportunities for his departure have proven limited so far.
Rashford has offered his services to Barcelona and is desperate to make the move to the La Liga giants but they are only expected to formalise their interest if they cannot sign Liverpool’s Luis Diaz.
Bayern Munich are believed to be the frontrunners to sign Diaz but they too could make a move for Rashford if they fail to sign the Liverpool winger this summer, while Aston Villa still remain interested as United continue to search for a solution to their long-standing issue.
