Juventus have reached an agreement to sign Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, but the Bianconeri now need a sale before they can formally complete the deal.

When the Serie A giants and the Red Devils started talks over the 25-year-old, all parties were seemingly on the same page. They all wanted to get the deal done quickly, and Juventus had no concerns about Sancho's price.

The only worry was his hefty salary, but the winger's willingness to make the move to Turin was cause for hope that this hurdle would be cleared without too much of a fuss.

However, this early optimism seems a distant memory at this point as talks dragged on for weeks without much progress. Juventus' simultaneous negotiations with Porto for Francisco Conceicao meant that the Sancho deal progressed at a snail's pace.

Now, Tuttomercatoweb reports that a breakthrough has finally been achieved, but an all-too-familiar problem means that Sancho will still have to wait to complete his move.

Juventus agree Sancho deal but need sales

The report claims that the two clubs have settled on a €17.3 million (£15m) fee for Sancho, who has agreed a four-year contract on a €6m-per-season salary.

Minor financial details, such as bonuses, still need to be ironed out, but the main unresolved issue is that Juventus need to raise funds before they can finalise the arrival of the former England star.

The €32m outlay on Conceicao has consumed the majority of the budget Juventus still had left over, with the Bianconeri having now spent a whopping €118.5m this summer, primarily on players they already had on loan last season. Juventus now need at least one big sale.

Tim Weah could have moved to Marseille, but had his move blocked by the Old Lady, much to the displeasure of the player and his agent. Nico Gonzalez, one of the loanees who has joined permanently, could also depart, as could Dusan Vlahovic.

It is thought that the situation could be resolved within the next few days, but Sancho is said to be growing impatient and frustrated. This is quite ironic as Man Utd are in exactly the same boat as Juventus, precisely because of players like Sancho.
