Chelsea are set to open talks with RB Leipzig for versatile attacker Xavi Simons, who is said to be keen on a move to Stamford Bridge after initial contact with the Blues earlier this week.

Simons is understood to be available for less than the €80 million price initially touted at the start of the summer transfer window, with Leipzig now willing to accept a lower fee.

It remains to be seen if Chelsea can strike a deal with the Bundesliga side as it is thought that the Premier League giants first have to complete some sales.
