Gyokeres is pushing to join Arsenal this summer and he has reportedly sacrificed €2m in wages in order to help the Gunners fund a move ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Gyokeres is on the verge of joining Arsenal and CNN Portugal have now revealed that he will move to the Emirates Stadium for €80m.

Gyokeres has even reportedly packed his suitcases as he prepares to travel to London in order to sign his contract at Arsenal.

CNN Portugal claim that Gyokeres’ move will consist of a fixed fee of €65m plus €15m in add-ons, although O Jogo believe that Sporting are holding out for a guaranteed sum of €70m, with an additional €10m in variables.

However, both publications state that an €80m deal will be confirmed shortly.

Viktor Gyokeres to join Arsenal

Gyokeres has scored 97 goals in 102 appearances for Sporting CP, following his arrival from Coventry City in 2023, and he is expected to become Arsenal’s new starting centre forward next campaign.

The Sweden star was also wanted by Manchester United, but he rejected the chance to reunite with Ruben Amorim in order to join Arsenal this summer.

If his add-on clauses are met, Gyokeres will become the joint-second most expensive signing in Arsenal’s history, behind only Declan Rice (€116.6m from West Ham United).

Arsenal have already confirmed the signings of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Martin Zubimendi so far this summer, while they also expected to purchase Cristhian Mosquera, Christian Norgaard and Noni Madueke, in addition to Gyokeres.
