Victor Osimhen knows where he wants to play next season and is prepared to turn down a lavish offer from the Saudi Pro League to make his dream come true.

Napoli forward Osimhen has been subject to intense transfer scrutiny over the course of the last 18 months, with a string of major clubs following his case.

Chelsea and Arsenal have both been closely linked to the forward from the Premier League, with Manchester United also interested in him. Interest from Serie A has come from Juventus and AC Milan, yet the biggest offer for the 26-year-old has been a €40m-per-year offer from Al-Hilal.

Osimhen, though, is ready to knock back all of these clubs to make his move to Galatasaray permanent, according to Corriere dello Sport.

“Victor is not an ordinary player and not an ordinary boy: he is faithful to his principles, he has his aspirations and ideas to make him reject the oil wealth offered by Al-Hilal in the form of a salary worth €40m per year for three years with the option of a fourth,” the source reports.

“Osimhen intends to continue playing with Galatasaray.”

Osimhen deal far from done

Galatasaray are reportedly willing to offer Osimhen a salary of €16m per year, and after a long deliberation, it appears that the Nigeria international forward is now ready to accept this offer.

A transfer fee continues to be a sticking point in the negotiations, however. While Napoli demand that the player’s €75m release clause be met, the Super Lig club have yet to offer more than €50-60m. There is no prospect of the Serie A champions giving Galatasaray a discount.

The Turkish side are seeking to resolve the issue with a pool of sponsors apparently willing to fund the deal.

But if no agreement is made before 17 July, when pre-season training starts, Napoli could opt to retain Osimhen in what would be another astonishing twist in this incredible saga.
