EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal plan to complete Gyokeres signing within two weeks
Arsenal plan to complete the signing of Viktor Gyokeres before their summer tour to Hong Kong and Singapore, FootballTransfers understands.
Contrary to reports elsewhere, there is no danger of negotiations between Arsenal and Sporting Lisbon breaking down.
FootballTransfers has learned that Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta flew back from Portugal on Tuesday night after positive talks with Sporting.
The negotiations with Sporting went well and the deal to take Gyokeres to Arsenal will get done.
Gyokeres to Arsenal gets closer
Arsenal have offered Sporting €65 million plus €5m in add-ons for Gyokeres.
Sporting are holding firm on a fixed fee of €70m but with a difference of only €5m, it is a gap that will not be difficult to bridge in further talks.
Arsenal are confident that the deal will soon be completed, with both the Gunners and Sporting on the same page of wanting to finalise the agreement.
We understand that Arsenal want the deal done before they fly out to Hong Kong and Singapore for their summer tour.
Arsenal play AC Milan at the National Stadium in Singapore on July 23 followed by Newcastle at the same place on July 27. They then travel to Kai Tak Stadium on July 31 to play Tottenham.
This means that Arsenal want to complete the Gyokeres transfer within the next two weeks, and then take the 27-year-old Swede with them on tour.
FootballTransfers also has learned that Berta will hold talks with Crystal Palace on Wednesday to discuss Eberechi Eze.
There have been multiple reports in recent days that Arsenal and Palace are in negotiations to bring the England international to the Emirates.
Eze has a release clause of over €70m and it has been reported that the two teams are discussing how to structure the payments.
The player himself is understood to want to join Arsenal.
