Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo is reportedly growing “increasingly frustrated” by the delay to his proposed move to Manchester United.

The 25-year-old has already agreed personal terms with Ruben Amorim’s side, however the Red Devils are yet to match Brentford's asking price of €80 million.

Man Utd have seen their opening two offers rejected by Brentford and they are now weighing up a third bid as they look to finally secure Mbeumo’s signature.

However, the Cameroon international has become frustrated by the lack of progress in recent days, according to The Standard, as Man Utd remain in negotiations to lower his potential price tag.

Brentford are standing firm with their valuation and they believe €80m may even be lower than market value due to the fees touted for Chelsea’s Noni Madueke and Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga, who are both set to move clubs for over €60m.

As a result, the move appears to have stalled and Mbeumo is eager for things to progress quickly as he looks to join Man Utd before the start of the 2025-26 campaign.

Bryan Mbeumo ‘happy to stay at Brentford’

Despite ongoing talks with Man Utd, Mbeumo would actually be happy to extend his stay at Brentford, according to the club’s director of football Phil Giles.

He told Sky Sports News last week: “There is significant interest in Bryan. His current preference has been well publicised.

“He had an unbelievable season, and we expected interest in him. From what I understand, he is also, if needs be, happy to stay at Brentford next year as well.

“We've spoken to Bryan and his representatives. It's not a given that he's going to depart this summer,” Giles continued.

“If we get the right offer, there is the potential for a deal to be done, but there is only so much we can say now on that.”

Mbeumo scored 20 Premier League goals last season and Man Utd view him as the perfect player to improve Amorim’s forward line.
