Kevin De Bruyne: Man City legend lands EIGHT-FIGURE bonus as Napoli contract details revealed

Kevin De Bruyne is in Italy to complete his move to Napoli as a free agent from Manchester City, with the Belgium legend set to receive a hefty signing-on bonus to hook up with the Serie A champions.
City announced their decision to release De Bruyne towards the end of the season, with concerns over the ability of the 33-year-old to play three games in the space of a week the reason behind the call.
Antonio Conte is set to profit with the veteran playmaker on the verge of joining Napoli.
The Serie A outfit will pay De Bruyne a €10 million bonus for signing for the club, Sky Sports' Sacha Tavolieri reports. His contract will run for an initial two years, with the player holding the option of another season.
De Bruyne’s medical will take place in Rome, with Napoli hopeful that the deal will be announced in a matter of hours.
Why did De Bruyne pick Napoli?
Several clubs were interested in signing the Premier League’s record assist maker. In particular, he was linked with a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League while MLS also held a firm interest in bringing him to the US.
Herwing De Bruyne, the player’s father, has now revealed why the No.10 rejected such financially rewarding offers.
“My son chose Napoli for the sporting aspect,” he said. “He wanted to come to Serie A because he knows he can still play at a high level. This is what matters to him, not his age.
“Antonio Conte was decisive in his choice.”
There had been rumours that Conte might leave Napoli after lifting the Scudetto last term, but these words from De Bruyne’s father would appear to put those claims to bed as the Man City great gears up for what will likely be the last big challenge of his career.
