Phil Foden: Arsenal tipped to complete BOMBSHELL move for Man City superstar

Arsenal have been tipped to complete a bombshell move for Manchester City superstar Phil Foden during the 2025 summer transfer window.
The England international only has two years remaining on his current contract with Pep Guardiola’s side and an exit could therefore be on the cards after an underwhelming 2024-25 campaign.
Arsenal are in the market for additional attacking talent this summer, as they bid to win the Premier League title for the first time since 2004, and former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino believes Foden would be an excellent signing for the Gunners.
When asked if Arsenal should pursue a move for fellow Man City attacker Jack Grealish, Cascarino told talkSPORT: “No, I think Foden's way more likely.
“Obviously Arteta worked at Man City with Phil Foden and for whatever reason, I'm sure we'll find out down the line, Phil Foden just hasn’t been the player we know him to be this season.
“From where he was the Football Writers' Player of the Year the season before, his performances this year have just not justified that.
“But all what's happening at City and all the spending that's gone on, I wouldn't be surprised if Foden is allowed to go somewhere.
“Whether City let him go Arsenal, I don't know, but they let Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko go there.
“If Arsenal could get him, I think Arteta would really consider that, yeah.”
Will Phil Foden leave Man City this summer?
Foden won the PFA Men’s Player of the Year award after a mesmeric 2023-24 campaign, in which he guided Man City to the Premier League title with 19 goals and eight assists in the competition, but his form nosedived last year.
Foden endured a poor showing at Euro 2024, despite England’s run to the final, and his worrying form continued upon his return to the Etihad Stadium after the tournament.
The 25-year-old amassed just 16 goal contributions in all competitions last season, while he only started 20 Premier League matches, and all seven of his goals in the English top flight came during a seven-match spell from December to January.
Man City have completed the signings of Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders in a bid to replace the departed Kevin De Bruyne, and Casarino believes Foden could follow in the Belgium international’s footsteps by leaving the Etihad Stadium this summer.
However, Foden’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €108.6 million, so Arsenal would likely be required to submit a huge offer in order to sign him ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
