Arsenal have been hunting for months for the arrival of Jorrel Hato, who is understood to be interested in a move to North London.

Earlier this week, journalist Graeme Bailey claimed that "Hato sees Arsenal as almost the perfect destination for his future."

In the negotiations with Ajax, Arsenal may be able to lower the price for the 19-year-old defender through a swap deal. According to Pianeta Milan, the Amsterdammers are among the suitors of Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Hato is considered one of the most sought-after players of Ajax, and indeed of the Netherlands. A big-money transfer seems inevitable and may take place as early as this summer.

Arsenal to swap Zinchenko for Hato?

Arsenal and Chelsea are said to have already had talks with the Dutch international. Ajax's asking price for Hato is as much as €50 million.

However, the latest rumours indicate that Arsenal could lower the price for the left-footed man-marker, as Ajax is mentioned, along with West Ham, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund, as a club with an interest in Zinchenko.

The price of the Ukrainian is said to be around €15m, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €20m.

However, FootballTransfers correspondent Steve Kay understands that Arsenal are not as desperate to get rid of Zinchenko as is being reported elsewhere. In fact, Mikel Arteta is open to keeping him, even if it means losing him for free next season.

We are told that Bournemouth made an approach for him earlier this summer, but the €15m offered was deemed not enough by the Gunners. Sources tell us that Arsenal actually want around €25m-€30m for him.
