Fabrizio Romano believes that 'the best is yet to come' for Arsenal after they managed to agree three summer signings.

The Gunners are in the midst of what they hope will be a transformative transfer window. Although things have taken a while to get rolling, Arsenal are now making huge progress on several fronts, and it's important to remember that it isn't even July yet.

Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta have been working hard behind the scenes on identifying new targets that few people had on their radar heading into the summer.

Over the past week or so, Arsenal have agreed deals for Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard, while they also finalised the signing of Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi, whose arrival is expected to be announced next week for accounting purposes.

Arsenal have also agreed personal terms with Spanish centre-back Christhian Mosquera after RB Leipzig were priced out of a deal. An opening bid has been rejected by Valencia, FootballTransfers correspondent Steve Kay can confirm, but the Gunners are sure to return with a fresh offer.

Romano on Arsenal's business

The most pressing priority for Arsenal is signing a new striker. A shortlist of four main targets has been drawn up, which includes Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko, Ollie Watkins and, as revealed by The Transfers Podcast, Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson.

A new No.9 will be Arsenal's marquee signing of the summer, and with no deal wrapped up as yet, this has led transfer insider Fabrizio Romano to the conclusion that 'the best is yet to come' for the Gunners.

"Get ready, Arsenal fans, because it's been a busy summer for Arsenal already, and the best is probably yet to come because Arsenal want to do way more," he said on his Here We Go Podcast.

"Arsenal are very active, also in the recent hours. Many movements and plenty more to come, with the new director Andrea Berta very active on the market."
